A Study of effect of tip mass density, orientation and resistance on vibration energy harvester

Energy harvesting is extracting energy from ambient sources. Vibration energy harvesting areas have received the attention of many researchers to power wireless sensors and low-power electronic devices from smart materials. This paper studies the effect of tip mass density, orientation, and resistance on a cantilever beam bounded by the piezoelectric patch. The analytical equations of the beam is derived using Euler Bernoulli beam assumptions, constitutive equations of piezoelectric material, and Hamilton’s principle.
